Safety Management System (SMS) Index
This page provides the index to the various permanent documents that make up the the Middleton Railway’s SMS. Its purpose is to list these documents, and to identify the current version of each. Where appropriate it also describes the revision history of the documents.
For some of these documents this page also provides links to access them, but for others it provides links to the pages that give more information about them, and that provide the links to access them.
This index does not include temporary documents, such as special traffic notices.

The Documents

11. Volunteers’ Handbook (often also referred to as the Working Members’ Handbook). The current version of this document is actually version 3, but it does not carry a version number. It is dated as issued in February 2010. This can be accessed from the separate page for Train Operations.
12. Induction Procedure for New Staff. The current version of this document is actually version 3, but the document itself does not carry a version number, and it is undated. Associated with this is a letter that must be given to junior members as part of the induction procedure, but which is not formally classed as a separate document for the purposes of the SMS.
